My dear friends: It's getting colder in Canada and my thoughts are wandering to warmer climes. On January 12/2010, I fly to Managua, Nicaragua and then work my way north ending up in Cancun, Mexico. From there, I fly to join many members of the Gaudun family in Daytona Beach. If you would rather not get notifications of my travel blogs just send a brief "no thank you" to this travelpod . No problem. Hasta la vista baby. Steve
Dundas, Ontario, Canada sgaudunThe morning hours of today,Tuesday were spent in utter amazement watching Tony, the computer wizard, wave his magic wand over my laptop, that has been dysfunctional for months, bring it back on line and integrate the desktop, laptop and blackberry into a smooth running network. After our tour, we returned home for a wonderful barbecued meal of steak (strangely our first in North America) and salad with plenty of wine. The following morning, thoroughly well rested and fed (thanks again Richard, Susan and family!) we would set off for London (Ontario), to stay with Frankie's other set of Canadian cousins, before our flight west.
Oakville, Ontario, Canada ajbatty... and heading bak down town, we walked most of the way to Queens Park, where we had a brief look at the Ontario paliament building! We then got the tube to Union station where we then headed to the harbour front, where we knew there was a good supermarket, we needed to pick up supplies for our trip to Niagara the next day, as well as for the Prairie train journey across to Vancouver! We got supplies after which we headed back to the hostel
Toronto, Ontario, Canada whernside... and possession of alcohol is highly illegal, punishable again with (you guessed it) prison or lashing. Interestingly, Christians are allowed to legally drink in Iran ; you just can't import it, buy it, or sell it. So unless I want to become an overnight bootlegger, I am not bringing my usual wee bottle of scotch to chase a dodgy street meal. But that's okay, too, because Iranian tea - or chay - has a nose and finish to rival any Islay single-malt, only without the elicit ...

Toronto, Ontario, Canada berutoranI've arrived back in Toronto safely. My luggage, however, is still in Philadelphia. My brother, who kindly rescued me from the airport, assures me that they pretty much never actually lose luggage. It always turns up sooner or later. I'm still a little twitchy about it. I'm very vain and very particular about my clothes, and most of everything I wear was in that suitcase. Definitely all of my work-friendly pants were in that suitcase. I'll have to resort to ...
