THURSDAY, JULY 2
On Thursday I got to meet up with my big brother, David, in Copenhagen; I haven't seen him since January! I was so excited and even though our plane was late getting in we took the metro into the city so that I could show him around. We had Shawarma at Becky and my favorite Shawarma place and soft ice with chocolate powder and then walked around the harbor and Stroget.
FRIDAY, JULY 4
On Friday we ate breakfast in the hotel and then packed up all of ...

... could tell). Due to the terrain there seems to not be a bus service down to Germany.) The internet proved very frustrating when it came to finding transport from Copenhagen, and we found the easiest way to organise travel was to physically buy the tickets from the train station itself. This needs to be done at least half a day before you plan to depart, or you might find yourself in town for another night. Off we set for another overnight train ride through Germany to Holland.
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark jimborussellEarly this morning, Jess, AJ, Charne, Dee and I caught a taxi to Stansted Airport and got on the plane for Copenhagen. A few months ago Dee and I were looking for cheap flights for weekends away- this trip was one of them. We all slept on the plane. Once we arrived we caught the train into the centre of town and went in search of our hostel. It was easy to find once we correctly read the ...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark jcastellanFriday the 15th August Had a great nights sleep and woke up to a beautiful morning. Peter and Søren were going to play golf. Marianne and I were planning a trip to town, possibly Tivoli. First I needed to take some photos of her for her CV and Facebook. We took quite a few. Wonderful to be able to download them straight away and see how we were doing. Eventually we headed into town. We parked by the new Theatre opposite the Opera. They were building the theatre last time ...
Copenhagen, Denmark friiskiwi... inspected their work. We came away with a better understanding of how artists and craftsmen built the Danish design tradition. Later in our hotel room we used a clever serving trolley by Danish designer Hans Bolling. Since this piece is still in production and we liked its simple lines and practical function, we sought out a local source ...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark johnston9494... meeting even more travelers. Finally around 1:00 they began to board the passengers in the deluxe accommodations. Around 1:30 they called people who had been in group 1 & 2, the only difficulty was that they had taken all the numbers so no one had any way to prove they were a 1 or 2. So there were some 4', some 8's and I even recognized some 15's. To top it off they had begun reissuing numbers, so the second round of 1's ...
Copenhagen, Denmark ohiolair... lounging i had circled on the map places of interest to see, so i headed out to the farther out spots first...which turned out to be great...and old castle from like 1600 that was still intact...nothing special to look at really from the outside...didn't go in, but fun to take pictures of by the moat and what not. so then i wandered and caught a good view of a new blding there called the Turning Torso (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turning_T orso) which was 5 blocks ...
Copenhagen, Denmark ritandBetween the short study tour and my Russia trip, I had about two days of spare time. Unfortunately, my transportation pass has run out so I have to pay everytime I go downtown. I thought it was going to be a nice quiet two days but then everyone else showed up at shared housing as well. And as usual, the internet crashed. So, I fought for a few hours to wash my clothes. It took me about three hours ...
Copenhagen, Denmark sarahindenmark... or 2 from the central city area, and feels utterly different to the rest of Copenhagen. People have squatted in the old army buildings and have also built shacks to live in, generally painted in bright colours and patterns. There are a number of what you would call rustic pubs and there are lots of people wandering around the paths with bottles of beer in one hand and a joint in the other. I decided to join in and have a beer and watch the passing parade. I walk into one of ...
Copenhagen, Denmark everardt... or stoically wait in the rain, refusing our pantomimed offer of the loan of an umbrella. The guard lets us in one by one with waits in between after checking any bag and passing a security wand around us.

Inside it is hushed and we talk in whispers, fill out a form, and queue up again. I've made a few mistakes and write over a correction. Olga is concerned that they might not accept it even ...
