... to spend a few days in London, UK first, where I had a very quick visit to see my sister and her little family. The conference was really good and I spent two extra days in Paris. Fantastique!

I'm taking next week as vacation, as Sarah (my twin sista) will be in town. I'm looking forward to doing some small home improvements, going for dog walks, and being a mock patient while she studies for her exam!

Now - time to get my sabbatical on!

There is a lock which is used to lower vessels to the St Lawrence river. From there I walked the short distance to Parliament Hill which comprises of some nice gothic styled buildings. ...

... abundance of other eateries. It was a perfect evening, warm and wind free, so we stopped off and had ourselves a pot of mussels - possibly the smallest once I've ever seen - and some whole shrimps. With a bottle of local white wine that wasn't bad at all. A short stroll back and we were long overdue for a decent night's sleep. It was a marathon trip to get here - about 32 hours from when we left home - but so worth ...

... for a bit and checked out the sight that I saw frozen over in winter. Despite it being a small waterfall, I really liked it. There is a little café right on the river, that we got an ice cream at.

I was on a wildlife hunt, and jenny wanted to show me some more cool stuff that we didn't see in winter so we went to the Arboreum which is basically a place with lots of trees, like a botanical garden. ...
