This was a very peaceful mooring, with little traffic noise, and just a few walkers.

We started fairly early in order to get to Brownhills in time for a shower before church. As we arrived at the visitor mooring, a young man from another boat warned us about an underwater obstruction so we moved on a boat length and found we could moor right in to the side. ...
Today was quite warm by UK standards and Derek and I had a pleasant walk along the canal in the morning before joining the Grimer family for a very tasty Sunday roast lunch. Rob and Fi then took us to Croome Park, an 18th century country house and estate where we enjoyed a walk through the house and grounds. Rob then dragged me out into the fields to go blackberry picking and Derek and I dropped in for a chat with Lesley's parents, Ray and Doreen, before supper and a chat with Rob and ...
... was really good. We then went and had some lunch, walked the 530 steps of the towers, watched a fantastic birds of prey show and a flame-throwing trebuchet that happens to be the biggest working one in the world at the moment. It was spectacular!
We found our accommodation which is about 2 klms form the castle, unpacked and headed off into town where we had some chinese food and we are just settling down for the evening...
Pick up Sat Morning. Smooth handover. SC- Can you feel it? DC - No hardly tell it's there. First outing in the new Van at our first C&C site in Ashbourne. Lovely Site. Friendly helpful staff help us push it on the pitch. The Van is very comfy and warm.
