The waiter was off with the fairies to say the least and didn't make it clear that we needed to order sides, good job charlie said at the last minute can we have some fries otherwise we would have just had a steak on a plate each ! It also had some weird lighting going on which I think was supposed to be romantic but was just a bit dingy . Luckily half way thru ...

... deer stood up suddenly. The pronghorn started running and we started driving next to it taking pictures as if we were national geographic. You really felt like its only you in the world when you can see desert for miles with no civilization. The views from Canyon Lands were breath taking and we can't wait to go back. We watched cars drive below on the canyon floor and saw a jet boat going down river. How peaceful it was sitting on a bench and looking out over the view. The La Sale mountains are really visible from here.

Next stop was another picnic lunch, this time in the state park. This was in a lush green area surrounded by low-lying trees and views of the mountains in the distance. Following our lunch, we piled back into the van and carried on to Arches National Park. The reds were even more vivid in this area and as we journeyed along the road, we could make out bizarre shapes in the rock formations around us. Balanced Rock became visible on the left hand ...
