... it is not the right place. The head is actually a Veteran's Memorial and the birthplace is in Denison itself. So after looking at the memorial bricks, off we went in search of the birthplace.

We finally found it on the "other side of the tracks" in Denison. As is the case in many famous people, even though he was born in Denison (1890), he did not grow up there. His family moved from there when he was two. I read in the museum that ...

We started out the day by going to church. The UMC of Durant has recently built a new building out of town and it is very nice. According to one parishioner I spoke with "It is more senior friendly" than the old one.

After church and changing clothes, we went on a road trip. Lots of our RV buds have been posting pictures of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, TX so it got my curiosity up. Since from here is would ...

We drove back into Durant and drove downtown to the historic district. Didn't really see anything I wanted to look at so we came back "home". And here we are.

That just about takes care of our day. Hope everyone has had a good day. Tomorrow after church, we're going to drive over to Paris, TX and see the sights.

          What a day!

... we would be able to. There was a car there already, so we waited. I got out of the car and started to get into the coach to get my drink, when Bob told me I couldn't get in since there was a chair sitting in the stairwell. He had slammed on the brakes for a stop light and my drink flew up to the front, spilled, one of the dining chairs fell into the stair well and I later saw where the recliners had moved forward also. Luckily the two wine bottles we had in the rack ...

Woke up to pounding rain. There is a hurricane going over us. We had planned to leave today. Rain and wind are so heavy we decided to stay another day. Thank you Mike and Kelly for your hospitality. Went out for breakfast and a drive around the area. Again Rob had stars in his eyes for this place. We leave tomorrow for Hot Springs, ...
