Yesterday we traveled from Mississippi and across Louisiana almost to Texas -- it was a fairly long drive, but Sassy and Odie were good travelers. In fact, they spent (as always) the whole time driving in their carriers -- we open them up, but they just stay inside and look out at us. Oh well . . . . . ...

Got ready to head out zydeco dancing to Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band! We headed out to the Isle of Capri Casino, parked on the far end of the lot, and walked through the lot, entered the casino, and found the band. My toe was not very happy with all ...

      First Day in Lake Charles

A travel blog entry by ilantha on Sep 12, 2014

"Uncle" Randy took us out for a late lunch to a restaurant just around the corner from his house, called the Seafood Palace. We got the sweetest server ever, who was genuinely friendly and helpful, and particularly helped me with my gluten concern. First of all, she knew what gluten was (a big deal around here!), and then she found out which fried items had a gluten-containing batter, and which were dipped and fried in-house, ...
