      ... from Madge's place.

The day turned on beautiful weather with a clear sky and a nip in the air. We were able to walk out to the end of the breakwater on the left and the one on the right which has two light sources on it. The fog was still over the Illinois River at the park when we arrived at the rock. We could just make out the lock on the other side of the river. It is a big park with a very big parking area which gradually filled. We stayed there about 2 hours. Walked to Aurora Canyon which did not have any water ...

      Oct.10th

We left Dummerston and took a scenic highway. The hills were finally showing some of the famous color we were told about. We stopped at a high viewpoint on Hogback Mountain and we could see the colorful hills stretching off for miles. We were so glad we took the slow scenic route today. In a few days we'll start to travel further and take the interstate highways. After a bit of shopping we spent the night ...

... things like My grandparents are – nice. They like to make - a garden. G’ma is good at – crafts. G’pa is good at – building. They live in – a van. The fact that we live in a van hadn’t really occurred to us before, but we guess that’s true. That puts a new spin on things. At least we don’t live down by the river in a van, although some nights that would be an upgrade.

      We still made ...
