today we woke up at 7:30 to go to get our complimentary breakfast which was a typical hotel banquet breakfast - very filling and not good for the butt. it was good for the hangover though. then we were due to be on the bus at 9:00 to go to San Diego Zoo. ... how he made his fortune. We were on the road to San Diego before 10am. We stopped a few times along the way for coffee and gas.. Found our hotel easy enough and we all needed to take a walk. We stayed in the old town area so it was really nice and there was heaps of Mexican restaurants around. We walked around looking at some shops and old buildings and lights. We had dinner outside in a small courtyard and had our first Mexican meal! ...

... that weekend. Lots of old geezers with hot rods, antique cars and trucks. It was only Thursday and the place was overrun by horsepower and loud mufflers, interrupted periodically by the antique circus truck with a calliope, right, I said a calliope. Listening to it once or twice was enough for me. It was fun to walk around and see all of the beautiful machinery and pride of ownership.
