    ... and we did a lot of walking, especially in Amana. Middle Amana has Iowa's largest rocker made of walnut. It reminded me of the rocker "Edith Ann" used to sit in. In fact they have a picture of Lilly Tomlin sitting in the chair.

    After spending several hours with a German religious sect, we drove over to Kalona, IA which is an Amish/Mennonite community. Bob wanted some more bread. We walked around the small town for a bit viewing the "quilt squares" ...

    ... be why it was heat lightening instead of regular lightening (my theory).

    Anyway it was been nice to be invited into someone else's circle. Since we travel mostly by ourselves, we don't get to socialize with a lot of different people at campgrounds. And since we "glamp" instead of camp, we don't have a lot of campfires.

    Now in Pella - Dutch town -
    or was settled by Dutch who came to USA to escape religious persecution
    back in Holland. They are now being outnumbered by the "outsiders". They have certainly kept their culture alive and it is a fascinating place
    with lots of windmills, an old village/ museum and lots of history, a
    canal and lots of amazing shops including the bakery and meat supplier
