    ... the wind pushes you away from the truck. It is fun when it is windy and there is about 12-15 mph wind gust today.

    Stopping for lunch at a rest stop we see a motor home we have been with since Cheyenne, WY. That couple is returned home to New Jersey. The have a 2011 34 foot Monaco Monarch, a sister coach to ours.

    Just East of Davenport, IA we cross the Mississippi for the second time. Finally we are in Ilinois and make our last KOA stop in LaSalle/Peru, IL.

    ... and caught each other up on 26+ years worth of our lives in something less than two hours. Then, back to the camper to hitch up and get back on the road. We left Shepherdsville around 11:15, and arrived in North Utica, Illinois, around 6:15, having survived another torrential downpour, this time accompanied by wind stong enough to make us stop on the shoulder of the road for a bit.     ... afternoon ending with a delicious steak dinner cooked by Bill accompanied by corn on the cob we brought with us from Jarrettsville. It was difficult to say goodbye since our chances to get together are few.

    Originally, I planned on riding 40 something miles. When I reached the halfway, I looked at my camping possibilities. There wasn't anything free for 80 miles, but I was feeling pretty good. I called the Henry police and asked them if I could camp in the park. The officer seemed really confused by this, like he'd never received a call from a cyclist before.     ... was higher than our limit, so the card was declined and they said they wouldn't be able to run it again for 24 hours. I told them that wasn't the amount I was quoted on the phone and their response was simply shrugging their shoulders and saying there wasn't anything else they could do.
