    The trip began with drive through the Delmarva (De = Delaware, MAR = Maryland, & VA = Virginia) country from Lewes, DE down to Norfolk via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. ....10 miles of bridge interrupted by a couple of dips down into tunnels that allow the large ships to enter the Chesapeake Bay.

    ... from the urban charms of the Washington state Puget Sound to the wide open spaces of a Kentucky dairy and produce farm. To see our dear friend comfortably transplanted and settled with all of her newly acquired extended family was a delight – like an oasis in a desert in the midst of long traveling sessions en route to our next destination of Raleigh, NC.

    ... I was not as prepared to handle the rough terrain as I thought I was, I'm gonna need some off road practice.

    I also got to see the Ft. Donelson National Cemetery where many generations of America's finest were laid to rest, including one Sheets (even he was just a baby at the time of his death, it still counts).

    My stay here was relatively short but incredibly powerful.
