I left Jacksonville bound for Houston and Buenos Aires by plane, and eventually to Parana, by bus. From wheels up in Jville to a warm embrace from Maxi (my Argentine exchange brother from high school) it was a total of 26 hours and over 5,000 miles. It was a long but smooth trip and it was worth every minute of it to catch up with him and his family Luli and Franco. (he's a 3 year old tazmanian devil but mostly human Maxi assures me) ...
... had just come out of the smokehouse. They even had homemade butter and syrup to put on everything. It sounds pretty decadent but it was just tastings so we really only got a bite of everything. Everything was delicious. The whole park is run by volunteers and it seems like the volunteers are all southern grandmas who definitely know how to cook. For those of you who knew my mom, you knew she had a good heart, and reached out to people. She always enjoyed being with her friends, whether playing mahjong or volunteering. Just last week she had a dinner gathering with a group of friends who she didn't get to see that often.

... Last weekend there Cajun cooked up some fried gator tail, gator ribs and gator jambalaya. MMMM MMMM GOOD!!! Once again everybody made dishes and we turned it into a party.
