... home just as a storm came upon us. It was short and powerful with thunder and lightning. In a place where there was drought for ten years, every bit of rain is welcome. We had a rest, a cup of tea, and good conversation and then went to the Gateway Tavern in Mildura for dinner. Tomorrow we head back to Melbourne.

... morning. He went for breakfast letting me get a bit of sleep. I was wakened by a door knock and it was the maid saying we were to leave today. I argued with her and she insisted! I wanted to call Phil and found his phone here on the table, so showered, dressed and had just walked out the door when he returned. A couple of phone calls and that is straightened out. ... and then dinner at Felicia’s. We took Phil’s book cover in a frame to Felicia’s. They have walls of photos of famous people that have eaten there and they had asked for Phil’s. We have enough leftovers for tomorrow night. Came home and argued politics till I went to bed.

... commercial stores and the library. This is a big deal and everyone turns out from 4 to-8pm. So much fun watching the kids and seeing the thoughtful and the wild costumes they had come up with! We had to be somewhere by a bit after 6 but we walked and watched till the last minute.
