After four hundred miles and about seven hours of driving we landed in Mosinee, WI. This park is like no other we've camped in! Being Labor Day weekend the 400 site campground is packed; there is a DJ at the pavilion about 300 feet from us! kids on bikes everywhere, golf carts zipping around, lots of beers being consumed and did I mention, we are next to the main road and boat ...
... ll be around midnight on my Midwestern schedule, but really be like 6 or 7 in Iceland's timezone. I think that some airplane sleeping is in order.
I'll try to keep this blog updated as often as I can, hopefully every day or every other. At least a couple times a week when I get really busy but we will see.
I think I'm ready for this super-mega-fantastic-adventure!
... the smoothest pre-departure eve we've ever had. Got a little sad having to say all my goodbyes but I think the time will fly by. Pegster hooked me up with some fresh freezer candy which I have all packed up for my flight, just like she told me to do AND we planned a birthday reunion dinner at anchor bay to celebrate our birthdays when I return. Can't wait to get out of this freezing weather and back to paradise tomorrow.. you're only a day away!!!! ...
Pleasant Wisconsin roads. Stopped in town of Owen, had picnic as lots of bread, summer sausage and cheese in cooler.
Anna then drove -- didn't stop again until reached border -- where Mississippi and St Croix rivers join, so crossed Mississippi twice except the first was actually St Croix River. [At Prescott, Wisconsin and Hastings, Minnesota]
Very hot -- above 90 and humid. Had 2nd stop just across St Croix, possibly Lake Rebecca Park.
Hi everyone, I have had two great days with my grandchildren, Matt, Alayna, and Michael. Yesterday we did a tie-dye project. Each one had two t-shirts to dye: one using the wet method and one using the dry method. It was unanimous that the wet method worked better.
