... Well done and congratulations to the Butlers! All the very best to Carla, Simone, Terry, Sophie, Chris, Greels, Macca and Lisa (and me) who all celebrated birthdays this month. March also promised to be a great month on the entertainment front. The first cab off the rank was some bloke named Richard Starkey...many of you might know him by his stage name Ringo Starr. The ex-Beatle and his All Stars were in town as part of the band's tour through South America, Mexico ...

Had another great day. Walked to Pier 39 where we saw the seals then to Pier 33 for our Alcatraz tour which was very good. At the end of our tour we met Libby and Cathy at the pier. Returned to the mainland, had lunch at a seafood takeaway at Pier 39 and then went to the Cable Car terminus. Spent 40mins in queue before our Cable ...

We had a big day so went to the nearby pub for tea and were home and in bed by 8:00 ...

Day 12. Marin headland bike ride

Today would be another cycling day! We were going to ride out to the Marin Headland which is over the Golden Gate Bridge and to the west. It is voted number 1 on TripAdvisor.
I had ripped my shorts on the nose of the bike saddle so we picked up some new ones from a sports warehouse on the way. They were a bit dodgy. VERY short. I have exposed 8 inches of white thigh that hasn't previously seen the light of day, only 1inch to go. Luckily there is a Lycra onion ...
