      This night I slept well. I guess I'd made up for my late nights the previous nights and didn't get moving until after midday. Well, that's not exactly true.       The day started slow. I didn't get moving until around checkout. My first point of call was to go to a grocery store and get my regular list of groceries for my day on the road. I put groceries in my GPS but it kept taking me to convenience stores in the area. Small shops, some in dodgy areas. I had tried 3, one even called a supermarket, still, it was a small shop.       In the afternoon we kayaked though a mangrove swamp and soon encountered a 7 foot alligator. It was lying in wait, but our guide (Jeremy) paddled over to it and slammed his paddle on the water. This provoked the 'gator to slide off into the lake.

      ... off down the trail. Marty was left to fend for himself, I was that frightened. He of course loved it and stuck around to watch the beast. We eventually met up near the visitor center and took another walk through a trail called the Gumbo Limbo Trail. This one sent us deep into the jungle like section of the park. I found this scary too as it got very dark and it was windy with no end in sight. Maybe I should work on my survival skills more? ...
