... road was blocked, we joined the queue behind the cavalcade of police cars. They got waved through, but the park ranger told us that today the President of the United States was visiting the park. We could go on in, but much of the park would be closed for security reasons, and that if we didn't get out of the park by 2pm, then we wouldn't be allowed out until gone 6pm. We decided to go in anyway.
Of course the best bits of the park were closed ...

Once she realised that she was getting absolutely no support from any of
the adults around the pool, she said something which sounded like:- "COME
ON BABIES, LETS GO, THERE ARE GRUMPY PEOPLE HERE". David almost choked on
his food and shouted down to her:- "WE ARE NOT GRUMPY, WE ARE
LITERATE". She then stormed off

... Essentially it is a 60 mile wide slow flowing river which creates a huge swamp. It isn't especially attractive, but it is home to Alligators. Out first activity of the day was a wetland walk.
