Okay, so far we've been on the road for three months, traveled a total of 3089 miles, visited ten states, saw some beautiful country, met some great fellow travelers and reached our first destination; Yellowstone National Park. So we did only 200 miles today and we have stopped for the night in Evanston, WY. It is about 6 miles from the Utah border. The mountains finally got pretty and greener around Green River. Well, we've dropped off 3 parcels ( neon signs) at the postal service, there are 2 more in the boot to pack. We are now heading to Salt Lake City. It will take about 8 hours. We have crossed the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and have gone through a town called Rock Springs, about 5 hours into the trip. The whole town is surrounded by rock hills. It's quite strange. No greenery anywhere. But there was 2 Maccas though! Ha, they are everywhere. ...
... We asked for both blue cheese & ranch dressing. We got 2 different dips, but could not determine which was which. The beer tasted like it was brewed from a kit. The chips & salsa were decent at least. The afternoon consisted of laundry & a soak in the hot tub. If only we could sit in a hot tub while doing laundry at home! I've consolidated a week's worth of travel into one blog because WiFi has been spotty and I've had difficulties downloading my Mt. Rushmore photos.
This blog counts my miles as 6,817. Not bad for a trip that was originally thought to last 3-6 months, but is now going on a year. But, I'm coming home -- be there in July. I'm running from bad weather again just as I did last fall when I tried to outrun temps of 32 degrees.
