      ... ever been truly broke. Similarly, if you have ever suffered through a period of extreme hardship of any kind, you are more able to enjoy and appreciate life post hardship. In my experience in schools, parents worked overtime to shelter their kids from hardships of any kind, up to and including failing a test.       Today is the day! Jonathan, Keith, Charlie and I are heading to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Jonathan and I did some grocery shopping last night and all I have to say is we are set in the snack department. Dropping Baxter off at Pet Paradise this morning was, as usual, a little sad.
