We have arrived at the Sofitel after a pretty smooth disembarkation. Bit of a wait for clearance .. About 20minutes and straight off , luggage ready and straight to the cab et voila ... Sofitel. Lovely sparkly sunshine day at Newport. Blue skies and beautiful coastal walk and mansion visiting. Took the public bus for $6 which meant no waiting ...

Back to the hotel and then the usual first night trial with sleep and time zone changes!! But here we are back in NYC and ready to love it all over ...

We hadn't really done much advanced research on this so when we arrived we were faced with what is still a massive building site with not much up close viewing of anything. We had a wander around what ...

... a smaller central pool in the middle and the names of all those lost in the September 9/11 tragedy and the earlier bombing at the World Trade Centre engraved in the marble surround .The pools are surrounded by trees quiet barren due to the harsh winter New York has just experienced which added to the somber and quiet mood of the visitors . The new World Trade Centre building ....they have replaced the twin towers with just one now ....stands almost finished behind the memorial ...
