... but it took 4 1/2hrs. - traffic was crawling south of Atlanta -- volumes of Christmas shoppers / transients?? Got to campground in dark - nobody around and very few campers either / pouring rain (but warm ~60')...never fun checking in after hours in the dark ...but managed on finding the tenting sites ( no I don't pitch one!!)...and used the washrooms -- then "in for the night" -- because the weather alerts were warning of heavy rain/ winds -- possible hail/tornadoes ( ...

... at the end of he Boardwalk. We saw a couple of gators on our ride as well as an ibis, a blue heron, egrets and a couple of small snakes (one of which was injured). ... lots of trees and on a body of water connected to the swamp. Apparently they water ski on it in the summer - the gators don't bother them!! Can't imagine!!! We had a lovely sunset. We enjoyed a delicious collaborative dinner of steak, shrimp, potatoes/peppers and mushrooms finished off with chocolate covered strawberries. Not bad for camping!!!
