Long, boring day of driving, but the SUN was out!

Left Broken Arrow around 730am to head to Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

LONG, very boring drive, and a splitting headache on top of it.

Headed to Winslow, Arizona tomorrow...such a nice place to see.

      Through Clovis

A travel blog entry by k.c77 on Nov 13, 2014

As I made my way through Clovis I stopped at a rest station to stretch and get a bite to eat. They had a really cool restaurant called Thai City and I ate the Golden Dragon for $10.95. After that I got gas at a Chevron for $41.66.

      right here in Clovis.

Trip Advisor tells us that in addition to visiting the Norman Petty Studio, you can visit the Hillcrest Park Zoo and the Blackwater Draw Museum which is described as “short, but
      boring.”

High on my bucket was (and I say was) Taos. Poor Tom drove about nine hours, some of them in a raging rain storm. Taos was a bust. We immediately headed for Santa Fe.
The ride, however to Taos was nothing short of spectacular. The landscapes were like paintings. We traveled through sage brush fields and majestic mountains. We miss so much of this beautiful country when we travel by plane.

Was told that this a is a good viewing area during spring & fall migration. - Short hiking trail in the sand dumes. - Last 10 years, or so, a large number of dairy farms/feed lots moved to the area. If the winds come from the direction of the farms the odor can be very unpleasant. The farms also have ...
