... fence guardrails. The park was really living up to it's name with a smoky haze covering the tops. The air cooled off as we ascended and, as with every other place, there were stops for roadwork. Trees of maple, oak, ash, and hickory grew tall with thick, braided vines hanging from branches. The foliage was so thick in places that it was nearly dark. yesterday we drove from tuscaloosa to Knoxville, tn. it was only about 5 hours but Rhett wasn't in the mood for driving so- we made some stops along the way. we stayed in a best western on the edge of town so we wouldn't hit any morning traffic on the way out. we've got about 4 hours left to get to lynchburg, va it looks like. graduation festivities begin at 6 tonight for us with john john. we're 3 hours ahead of California time now. so I don't know what day it is OR what time it ...

As for this hostel, GREAT FOOD, nice people, good bunk house - my only complaint, the water situation SUCKS! I went to get a shower, soaped up....and......NO FREAKING WATER! It took be about 25 minutes to just get the soap to a manageable level (the water only dripped out ...

... relaxing for a good while I countinued on, and what would end up being a great 19 mile day. Weather was a little chill out, but the views were absolutely amazing all day! Arrived in Hot Springs at about 8:30. I got a ride from Zig-Zag to his cabin, where a few others were crashing out. We hit up a local bar and hung out for a few. Needless to say, Zig Zag made the night interesting, can't post everything...but sometime ...
