yesterday we drove from tuscaloosa to Knoxville, tn. it was only about 5 hours but Rhett wasn't in the mood for driving so- we made some stops along the way. we stayed in a best western on the edge of town so we wouldn't hit any morning traffic on the way out. we've got about 4 hours left to get to lynchburg, va it looks like. graduation festivities begin at 6 tonight for us with john john. we're 3 hours ahead of California time now. so I don't know what day it is OR what time it ...
Now that we have given back the three hours that we gained in the long journey across this great nation, we realize two things. First, just how far it is from one coast to the other. And second, just how good it is going to feel being home again.
This trip wound up taking just three and a half weeks. With an original plan of up to two months, it seems on paper, or on the computer actually, and in our minds..........to have taken a very long time ...
... 2 full days that I could be catching up with friends and family.....but no service! So for now, I am catching up on new episodes of "America's dumbest criminals.", "Greatest police chases.", and "Bones". As for this hostel, GREAT FOOD, nice people, good bunk house - my only complaint, the water situation SUCKS! I went to get a shower, soaped up....and......NO FREAKING WATER! Thursday April 10, Woke up to an amazing sunrise at Max Patch! Windy as all heck, and trying to set up the Contrail with those high winds - sucked, I would get half the tent staked....the wind would yank it out, and it would try to fly away....in the end, I won the battle.....but the wind put up a hell of a fight!
