    ... it more but want to get up into the northern lakes area. Earlier in the morning, after returning to cell service away from badlands, while Sraddha is driving I look in the Atlas to find the nights camp. I spot a state park, one of our favorite venues, a few miles north of Sioux Falls. I get on the internet to check availability.

    Some parks won't show you anything that day but this one did which showed two sites. I ...

    Then back on the road, back to US 14 -- and eventually a meandering route (avoiding road works, or trying to) to go north from US 14 to US 212, which took us across South Dakota to our campsite on the banks of 'the wide Missouri' (Lake Oahe).

    I'm not sure why but it seems to take a lot longer to get out of a hotel in the morning than I think it should. I guess I am going to have to plan on getting up earlier or just adjust my expectations. After a quick stop at Walmart for bread and snack food for today's lunch on the prairie we are now traveling on the Laura ...

    From the Spam museum we traveled westward. The farm land is really pretty. We got off the highway at Sioux Falls to find some supper. It was the strangest exit. There were semi-truck dealers all along the road. We saw Volvos, Peterbuilts, and a few others. So exit 399 in Sioux Falls is the place to buy a big rig. After driving for a bit we finally found a mini-mall that had two restuarants in it, one pizza and the other Chinese. The kid ...
