... know what this is, its a glass box that sticks out of the building on the 101st floor. You stand IN the box and on clear days can actually see four different states! Since the dogs can't go and it's 93 degrees out, we passed.
When we did get home we had the Mother of ALL Thunderstorms for entertainment. We just turned out the lights, sat in the Captains chairs and watched the show for a few hours. AMAZING!
Well, all the lazing reading and listening to the critters means we had some chores to get done, so today, that is what we did. House cleaning.
As a reward we got to watch the fire flies again tonight AND we got woken up at 2:30 in the morning by a HUGE thunder and lightening storm! Loved it!
Okay, I have dried dozens of times to attach a video of the fireflies, but it just won't work. If it ever does, I will let you know. Sorry.
We took a drive into Rockford today. May I say...BOO! There was one small stretch of land that had some beautiful houses on a lake, but other than that...everything we saw was broken down, run down, empty and trashed. The "highway" runs right through town but we just couldn't get out of there quite fast enough.
We came back to camp and Mike decided to detail the Jeep a bit. I, on the other hand, just enjoyed the view. I think you can understand why ;-)
We have been really enjoying just hanging around camp and reading books, watching fire flies in the evenings and just plain camping! Did you know that birds sing and that frogs are loud when they croak? Did you know that crickets are really cool to listen to? It's been so long since we have just sat quietly that its almost like hearing it for the first time. ...
... So, so good to steal an hour away from our respective day's journeys for delicious food and good coversation.
Arrived at my Mom's just as she was arriving home from work. Planning, chatting, out to dinner, and laundry! Pets are always relaxed at "grandma's" house!
