... to strip to shorts and shirt in case a cold wind should blow and the temperature drop from its balmy 80 degrees. Not so for the locals, for whom summer in the middle of winter is quite normal. The city is much more modern than I had imagined. Strung out along the Brazos river, all shiny new high rise buildings and parks, the state Capitol and the University, it is very attractive. Not the image of Texas I carry around with me. Maybe I should change.
