          ... br> It rained in dribs and drabs most of the way today. Apart from a nice Rest Area not far outside Tonopah, there was really nothing to see - no animals, no houses - until we got to Coaldale, which really WAS a ghost town. Until now, and after for ages, the grass was tufty little lumps. There was a lot of rain water lying around, and a few springs/small lakes - so there must be something really wrong with the soil.           ... area, which is a great spot to practice, being here in mid-desert. We saw several fighter-bombers come in to land. I also have a few shots of these planes.

          Fallon is a town of about 5,000 folks. We're parked in a Casino RV Parking Lot, which suits us just fine. We had a good lunch in the cafe and "invested" a few not-very-hard-earned dollars at the machines. No luck, no foul...
