Although we had a non smoking room, there was still the smell of smoke because other guests smoked outside the building but held the doors open so the smoke wafted into the building. It is a pity some smokers do not read the signs saying not to prop open doors and choose to make others suffer.
Room was good, beds comfortable and staff very polite. Breakfast was what we expected - some hot choices and cold pastries etc.

Woke to rain but it had lessened to spitting when we hit the road. Went back into the Port area to have another look at the bridge to Canada. Left Port Huron via Marysville where we stopped at Meijer store where they advertise they have over 20,000 items for sale. It was huge and sold everything from household items, underwear, clothing for all the …
Has to be the ultimate road trip! I have dreamed of doing the "mother road" for years. I have books, maps, videos, hats, tee shirts, memorabilia, you name it. Over time cruising Route 66 in some kind of a hot rod surfaced on the top of my "bucket list".

We just stopped to cut the cheese at Grandpas Cheesebarn in Ashland,OH. Picked up some awesome cheese curds and now are back on the road! It's been raining for the past two hours and looks like we are driving through clouds. Good news is snow is gone and we are seeing grass( even if it's brown...) All is going well and we should be arriving in Dayton,OH in about 3 hours. That's all for now.. -Jumanda ...
... just missed the hurricane coming in from the Pacific...we went from temps in the mid 90s and 90+ humidity to low 60s and low 40s last night...burr. Just what I expected for Ohio. Where'd summer go?
I know a ton of mail is awaiting for us and Richard will pick it up tomorrow. It was nice to be back in our own bed...but I sure miss those good cooks & our cabin steward! We are now back to ...
... from wind turbines on separate trucks. Wow, are they big. After a little Goggle search, I found that they measure 116 feet long and sit on a 212 foot high tower, with a total of 328 feet! Keith sure looks very small next to one. Not an easy item to transport.
Arrived home around 7pm.
Next trip in October, it will be a short summer......
