... see these stunning ancient buildings. We of course all for our photos of pushing and keeping up the tower and walked around a little but we were not there for long at all. But I. Saying that, there was not much else to do after you took your iconic photo. When we got closed to the French Riviera, which is where Nice is situated we were treated to the scenic route instead of the highway. And I am so glad we have a switched on tour manager and bus driver to make these ...

... forward to just checking into our hotel and having a rest. Our hotel was in a good location, close to the square and only a 10 minute walk to the sea. Restaurant prices in Nice were no different to those in Paris, still very expensive. As we got in late, we only really had the chance to have a quick stroll after dinner so we walked down to the Esplanade before calling it a night.

The following morning was a gorgeous day so we decided to head down to Monte Carlo, Monaco ...

... br> Next was a Gelato as we needed to cool down and take a short rest.
Visit to the Shopping Centre for Carmen to purchase 'Pandora' charms for her braclet. She came away from there very happy. Mind you so was the Shop Assistant!
Carmen also managed to drench herself in the fountain jets in a park we walked through and we all only wished we had done the same. So cooling.

Lots of walking but great to have our own personal Tour Guide, thanks Lionel. ...

      Getting slightly addicted... Oops.
      Blame Simon!!!!!
I'd never even been to a casino before Nice!! Haha. Simon lost most of his winnings (80 euro) last night. But at least he didn't minus in actual money!
Good fun but! And Monaco was beautiful - well worth our little excursion. It got to 8.40 and we thought we should head back for the train. Of course we went past many more sweet ...

... was ok, nothing to be super excited about, but check done that one off our list :-)

Nice has been an enjoyable stop over, it is clean and pretty and people are nice with a semi resort atmosphere. I think there are nice areas and not so nice and lucky we picked a good area that was cheap, clean and safe. Probably not much to do here as a city per-say unless you are very rich and want to relax beach front, but a great spot for launching off to begin a trip ...
