Liberty sails into the small bay at Villefranche just as the rising sun lifts above the horizon and throws its light over the pine clad hills that surround the small town. ... We were in 2 minds as to whether to stay, but as we had already paid, we checked in. The hotel had been described on line as an up market 2 star, but was far from that on entering. Very dated and rough. Anyway, we eventually left the room and had a walk into the main town.
