... A very proper woman dressed in black approaches and says something in French. I stumble a bit around French and finally blurt out in English, “I don’t understand.” She says, “We are all done for today.” I apologized and practically run out the door. All in all, not my worst interaction, but definitely not my best. I had forgotten that many places only serve food until 2pm and then close till 7pm.
This led to me wandering around trying to ...
... I knew I was heading toward a museum that I will be going to tomorrow but I wanted to make sure I knew where it was. I didn’t know where it was apparently because I came upon this church which was three streets over. We had a very full, restful and encouraging Feast of Tabernacles in La Bussières France, about an hour's drive east of Poitiers. The vacation colony was quite rural; we head virtually no sounds except natural ones during our stay. Most of the buildings were new, but there is a 16th century manor-house and a stone pigeon-tower from the same period. We were 116 present.
... the little villages tend to slow you down a bit. After booking into our hotel we found a Laverie down the road and managed to complete all the laundry requirements. After we strolled around Poitiers for a while, mainly the shopping area, which is quite big and very clean. It was pleasant to walk without the hustle and bustle of the larger cities.
Picked up some supplies for lunch on the road tomorrow and back to the hotel for a hot shower and a reasonably early night.
