We splashed out a hard sleeper to Xining - which was to be our last stop before Tibet. It was worth it - the beds were 3 high - 6 to a cabin - which were open to the corridor, it wasn't so crowded and it was good to stretch out and get a nights sleep. A lot of people at my table were talking about how the food at lunch at lunch was better and how they couldn't believe that that we were expected to eat food that we were being served. I felt bad for the waitresses because I'm sure that she could hear from their tones that lots of people at our table thought that they were too good for the food they were being served.
