So we start our day thinking we'll visit Beijing's Summer Palace, not really knowing what to expect. Once again, we were baffled to find such beauty in anotherwise dirty place. Temples here, shrines there, pergolas over there, Old MacDonald was a Buddhist; ni hao, ni hao ma!

... coal hill park afterwards which is quiet in comparison to the city and has a view overlooking the palace. Our touring ends with finding a small restaurant outside of the parks gate, and then making our way to the pearl market to do some browsing. Negotiating the cab ride is always fun. I think the driver was miffed that it took so long to get there. Bartering is easy as we get there near closing time and the hassle doesn't exist. I want that purse for 60¥! Okay... Humm too easy ...
