They're heading south tomorrow to Shanghai and then further still to Guangxi (?)- good luck guys, hope it's awesome! So there you go...my jam packed day. Boarded our express train around 9.45am and it departed right on 10am. Moved slowly out of the Station and before long we were up to around 180klms. It only took another 10 minutes and we were out of Beijing sitting on our cruising speed of 301klms p/hr.

Seats are comfortable and good size window so should get some good photos when smog lightens. To ...

... a picture of my first meal which consisted of refried rice and chicken and noodles and not sure what else. Those seem to be very common foods here. I'm not finding the food as bland as I anticipated. The food, which as you may know was one of my greatest concerns has been okay so far but very different. We went back to our hostel and had a fairly good sleep despite waking up a few times. That ended my first day in China.
