    ... with Anna and Laura on evening Fri: came to school with me in the morning, had lunch at school, then left for shanghai by bus at around 3pm.     ... the students seem a lot younger overall this term. I have 3 of my old grade 6 classes (who are now in grade 7) and 3 of my old grade 7 classes (who are now in grade 8). - felt really nervous to come back, even though I knew what to expect in a way. The only thing that I was scared of I think was getting back in the swing of things, and remembering how to teach!     ... tabard colour. Green and red meant they needed help with eating, so us volunteers situated ourselves accordingly. Their tabards were worn around the children's necks, and it turned out that they were long enough to combine as placemats!     ... a purple "best wishes" one and said the same! - Then the teachers brought over a HUGE cake box and put it on the end of my desk! Inside was a cake saying Happy Birthday and some "22" candles on it. - The cakes here are very different to home. The sponge is more dense but light, and all the icing is made from cream. Very messy to cut up for everyone! Managed to cut 20 huge slices from it and there was still loads left! Had to use the cake box lid as a tray ...
