    ... the lone gas station to get a drink because I had run out long long ago. I started to get a little discouraged because I had no idea how much further down the road Zili village was, but I kept walking anyway and finally found the turn off.

    From the highway, it's still a further walk to get to the front gate. I realized why no one comes to this place.

    ... of the diaolou and most of them don’t look that great. But one of them really stands out: the Lin family Diaolou. The inside is just untouched.     After our orphanage visit, Mr. Guan and his wife very kindly invited us to one of his favorite restaurants for lunch. It was a good drive from the SWI, and more on the outskirts of Jiangmen.     ... and didn't seem to have any obvious disabilities. All I could think, is why haven't these kids been adopted? It makes me think the number of kids allowed to be adopted outside the country is minimal. A family I spoke to recently had been waiting 5 years to adopt a child from China, so that must be the case. After our visit, and only steps from the new orphanage was the building Lili lived in, which was also about 4 floors with a cement parking lot/play area. It was ...
