Each morning, I wake up bathed in uncertainty. What new things will today bring? Will I commit an enormous social faux pas? Will I make a new friend? Will the food make me sick? Will I remember what I studied yesterday for my Chinese exam? Will I understand what people are trying to communicate to me? Will I miss home? And each evening, I excitedly ...

There was a nice pagoda to sit at if you could ignore the hundreds of other tourists visiting the place. We had our final lunch with the Bus#1 group before we left to go to the Changsha airport. From here we would fly back ...

... a well reasoned response on why it will be different this time. I can’t blame her if her country will prove her wrong on that. One of the most despicable trade goods China exports from Africa is Elephant Ivory. I’ve been free of food poisoning for at least a week now and that has been a nice relief. Cooking more food at home has been a big help there. And now that my drink has run out and the mango slices are gone I’m going to sign off for the night.
