We are in our new 80% discount hotel! You get some great discounts here at this time of year. It is right on the beach and a 15 minute walk to the centre of Lamai where all the night life is. The night life is buzzing with hundreds of bars and restaurants and a boxing ring which is surrounded by pole dancing stalls. There are plenty of ladyboys etc here but it is all in good fun and quite a good laugh. It is the ...

This was incredibly laughable as we were outside on the beach and he was the fool to bring kids to a full moon party. Chaweng is a beautiful 7 km beach on a beautiful bay surrounded by palm and teak trees. The water is so warm and the sand so perfect. Dr Beach must know this is it! No high rises just bungalows with beachfront restaurants. A block away is main st. filled with restaurants and shops. The town also has a Thai Boxing venue and a water buffalo fighting ring! Most of the visitors are French right now. The locals say that the Russians go home ...

... when I went I did a full somersault in the air! There is a video of it somewhere on Facebook, and it looks as crazy as it was. The next day was the day of the Blackmoon Culture party which is actually held at the hotel where we were staying - Mac's Bay. We headed to the market to buy fluorescent paint for the party, and spent around 3 hours painting ourselves and each other. The party itself wasn't the best; none of us liked the trance music they played ...

... is part and parcel of travelling in Thailand. I'll try to explain it quickly and simply. When you arrive in Thailand, off the bat you get 30 days tourist visa, (you can pre apply for more but there's no point on going into that now) if you out stay your visa you get a 500 bhat (10) a day fine. What every one does is a visa run. This involves you taking a bus, boat, train, mini van, whatever to the Thailand boarder. You simply cross over into any of the surrounding countries - ...
