... my next 2 months. I met Mr. Baskar, the director of the center, a man who has dedicated his life thus far to the children who live here. Pretty amazing guy actually... more on him later. After we unloaded my luggage, we went over to Taylor’s University, which is my host LC (local chapter). I was able to connect to the wifi and skype’d my parents to let them know that I arrived safetly. Afterwards, Mann Dee, Fifi, and I went to a place ...
Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia shivan... The highlight for me here was to go to the "fish spa" - little fish nibble your feet and get rid of all the dead skin - oh what bliss! The shopping malls are huge and you could buy anything there.
We then journeyed to the Cameron Highlands, what a joy to feel less humidity in the air. We decided that we would go on the trip to see the "raffelasia" flower - so that was just a mere 3 hours jungle trecking! We also went to the tea ...
... a new one until I'm held inside a customs place for having a beat up passport and curse myself for not taking the time to plan ahead and get a new one. We'll wait till that day happens. After submitting my visa application, I was tired and didn't want to walk around, so I debated just going home to rest. And after my night flying in to this city and my day thus far, I was already done with Kuala Lumpur. I hated it. I didn't want to give it a chance. It didn't really give me one ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia snclark8... for the dance show. It was about 20 mins long with 6 dancers. Well Okie Dokie then. After the show we headed back to the Sky train but for some reason we couldn't find where we got on. So trying to follow the map we still couldn't find it. A gentleman finally stopped to help us and we found out we had walked almost back to China town where we were staying. He pointed us in the right direction with a warning to watch our ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia savageharmonySo it's finally my turn to write in our blog. Now you get to hear what really goes on in our travels! We arrived in KL unscathed and eager to be back in Asia. Yes! Cheap food and accommodation, hadn't seen that for a long time. Besides all that we love really Asian culture. Our first impressions of Kuala Lumpur was that it was just another big dirty city, which hasn't changed. Checked into Le Village hostel in China Town for $10 a night, and then headed out for some ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia tone_n_erinHi Folks,
Having a great time so far...I am in a constant state of culture shock. I've been more of a tourist lately than a traveller but its fun just the same. May go to New Zealand for November as a friend of mine is also traveling down there. Also because with the monsoon season starting here...its wet!!

Malaysian people are extraordinarily polite and to some extent curious to get to know you ...
... Tony, and Pa-Pa) went out to a pub opening. At 8pm, though, I went to school for the teacher's film show. (Cze Loon sent me.) All the gates were locked, but lights were on in the prefect's room, so I knew people were in there. To get in, I climbed up some grates to the second floor, then walked up to the third floor, along the hall, then down to the prefect's room. I walked in casually. "Do you realize all the ...
Petaling jaya, Malaysia ahartryToday, I had probably the most exotic meal of my life (or probably the most exotic variety of unusual dishes in one meal). Mom, Dad, Uncle Tay, Pat, Jay, and I went to a restoran about a half-hour drive away. When we got there, we were ushered into a back room that was almost completely filled by one giant table. Two men were already there, and later another family of five joined us. (It was a private dinner party given by a friend of Dad, a father to ...

Nelp, Liz, and I stayed at home while Bien drove Claire to her house. Then I went with Bien as she took Nelp and Liz home. We had a good talk. Bien stayed for tea -- tea! -- but I was so sleepy. Peaceful evening.
