We got to hotel, hit the room, hit the wifi and sat there cancelling the first batch of hotels we'd painstakingly booked six months ago while in NZ, at least they were free cancelation but it certainly wasn't the start to our trip we'd envisaged. I had booked Jess in with Amelie, our French vet, for the required checks and treatments the day before we were due to sail. It always amuses me how Jess seems to 'know' we are going to be leaving either Sheff or Kerhuel. ... Probably a combination of all three saw it end up a hundred metres down the hill. The southerly gales that have battered the south coast of Britain have also battered Brittany so perhaps not unexpected.

Still no damage to house or shed reported yet so fingers crossed!!! Global warming brought us a great summer but we could do without all these floods and gales in winter. It seems to me that we dont seem to get winter until Feb, whilst Autumn doesnt seem to start until October.
