Glad I did, he lives in Bali for 2 months of every year to surf and is a confident driver so I jumped on the bak of his bike and about a 40 min drive later we went and got the stitches out. ... many off buses up for the day from Kuta. It has become one long - about 2 kms - shopping mall. The visiting tourists plus those who are staying in Ubud clog the walking space as do the huge buses that bring them. All the Ubudians complain about the congestion but a solution seems almost impossible. And it does bring an income however small into the local population.
