We arrived in Ubud and headed to our hotel for the next 2 days. Ubud is a town full of Yoga shops mostly plus a few craft shops and art galleries surrounded by rice paddies. After a relaxing afternoon recharging our batteries we headed out for a walk around town and some tea/people watching. We stayed in a new high-rise hotel with pod-sized bedrooms +en suite… it is really quite upsetting seeing small coastal villages evolve in to tourist traps, with hotels obscuring local sea views and rice fields being removed to form foundations.
