... we did not get to see any of Genoa on our travels and bus ride except glimpses along the way as the main road out of town went on the outskirts and we got glimpses of the city from afar Our bus took us thru the town of Rapallo and on to the sea side town of Santa Margherita some 35 kilometres South East of Geona. The road took us thru many tunnels some over 1.5 kilometres long . The town of Rapallo had very narrow streets some times I wondered if the bus ...

... 1.5 million, it is a real city with a real city feel and... realities. Our first night in Genoa we followed a TripAdvisor recommendation to a charming, family run restaurant located in the gorgeously decayed Old City of Genoa: a maze of narrow, twisting alleyways lined with shops and random open squares that cafes and restaurants use for outdoor seating. Shockingly many of the medieval and renaissance buildings were tagged with political ...

... walking for another hour or so until we thought we had seen most of the main part of the city, we ended up very close to the port so thought we would go back to the ship for lunch. We also saw some weird sculptures around Genoa, all I can say is that people must be a bit weird to think of creating such sculptures, I don’t understand ...

... were heading the wrong way and our map was not making too much sense! After a bit more wandering we decided to give in and get a taxi back to port! It was after 3pm and getting cold. Our taxi driver got a bit lost in the maze of traffic at the port , he went down a one way street that was a dead end so he just popped his hazard lights on and headed back up the road dodging the oncoming traffic! Only in Italy !! Back on ship, ...

... having a look around the markets (near the sun symbol at Porto Antico on the map I copied), we crossed the road. We crossed near another Rolli Palace on Piazza Banchi. I googled it to try and find an exact name and it looks as though there is a B & B in the building now!! Le Terrazze di Banchi - very reasonable rates too by the looks. On the way back to our hotel area, we passed some very narrow alleyways - which we didn't venture down because the ...
