... previous day, but we pass many pilgrims, looking a little miserable in the fog and rain. Some parts of the Camino are on main roads which can't be much fun! Appparently Jean-Paul Sartre in one of his novels called this village one of the prettiest in Spain. Yes it is pretty but I'm not sure that is correct. Despite its name it is a couple of kms from the sea. It is a very touristy place full of souvenir shops selling the special food products of the ...

... doing homework and going to bed. Now what am I to do??

Not only am I going to miss Santander, I am going to miss the people. We got to know Dutch, Spanish, and British people really well, and it finally hit me that it is going to be hard to see them go!

Looking ahead to this weekend, I really need some rest! There will be a LOT of touring for the next few days, and before I know it, we will all be heading home!

Until Salamanca!

... and businesses even close for a few hours in the afternoon for their daily "siesta." This nap keeps Spaniards awake until the late hours of the night. They do not even think about dinner until 8 at night (and most do not eat until 10)! After my afternoon siesta, some friends, Emily, and I went to Pizza Hut because lately, we have been feeling homesick. We miss our friends, family, and normal ...

... to new people. Usually, I am a very shy person. In Spain, you simply cannot be that way. I am really proud of what I have become in just a month! (I still hate ham though... that is never going to change.)

I hope that when I come home, I find ways to continue my growth as a Spanish speaker, as well as become more outgoing as a person. I have certainly made friends here that I will never forget!

Good night everyone!
