a little about the group!

... m going to miss doing the salsa, cumbia and merenge beside Amanda and Stephanie in dance class since we always loved being in front of the class. Also in dance class, im going to miss drunken Matthew trying to move his hips while doing the salsa with me…hahaha J I’m going to miss going laughing with curly-haired Geoff in class, on bike rides and on our way to Bungee mania escapade. I’m going to miss every single one of the ...

First few days...what a blessing!

... Thank Jesus that my 2 bags got at the last terminal when I arrived. I was a bit, well a lot, nervous because I had so many stops and layovers. We then took a bus to Puntarenas. Christ never ever seizes to amaze me; I was welcomed with a captivating pink sunset right above the ocean as I walked into my USAC building. The USAC School is right across the street from the beach, my house is I believe 2 blocks from the beach and 3 blocks away from the ...

Flying High

... through the rain forest for about 20 minutes. Next, we climbed a ladder to a platform built around a huge tree. Francene was the first to fly through the air like a bird, except she had her harness attached to two cables and away she went flying for a few seconds. Phil was next and away he went for good ride. This was repeated over and over 8 times. It was wonderful ...

Michael's Cocos Island Diving Experience

... dive was adrenaline all the way, a very jagged rocky pinnacle about a mile off the main island's coast. We dropped down to about 30 meters, Billy and I were ahead of the pack which was rewarded by us meeting a large beautiful female Hawksbill turtle just dozing on the bottom - I then turned into DeMille mode and she was so obliging during her close up encounter until my com padres descended to take their places beside us - flash guns blazing and exhaust bubbles ...

Montezuma

... This time is supposed to be the end of the rainy season in Costa Rica, but they have had some unusual storms come through. The storms have actually caused a lot of flooding on the Caribbean coast and will most likely prevent me from visiting that coast while I am here. We came back to pouring rain in San Carlos around 10:30 Sunday night. I am hoping that I wont have to wait until the weekend to see the sun again!

Monteverde

Once we arrived in Monteverde (well, actually the village of Santa Elena) we checked into the Pension Colibri. Colibri means hummingbird. Our accommodation was run by a nice family and was located off the main street down a lane. The room was very pleasant but covered in frills. The curtains and bedspread were frilly and the towels had been folded and pleated into an elaborate design (I took a photo). In the bathroom, the toilet paper too had been folded ...

... us through varying levels as we crossed rope swings through the canopy and walked right down to see the river in the basin. It was beautiful seeing all the trees and vines at different canopy levels. We also got to climb all the way up the inside of a tree that had been killed by a strangler vine and had rotted away inside. Really good fun. However the real fun came after. We did a series of zip wores that went flying through ...

TEACHER!!!! TEACHER!!!!! TEACHER!!!!

Oh my goodness gracious, today was a day I will never forget. So starting with the weekend. There is a huge carnival here in Puntarenas, with concerts, parades, animals, rides everything you could possibly imagine. However, it is also directly on my street. (Watch the video!) So good times, but not as fun when you are trying to sleep because it is the first day of school. So Saturday we went ...
