In spite of its egalitarian principals, public transportation in Cuba is basic and poorly managed. Passengers sometimes have to wait very long periods for a bus to arrive. Morning queues are enormous, though everyone seems well behaved, if very frustrated. When a vehicle finally arrives it is extremely overloaded. ... 25th March, day trip to El Nicho waterfalls. Very clean and beautiful falls up a small mountain in a protected area. The swim refreshing after the hot sticky coast. Woke up hung over as dog- had breakfast and went back to bed for a bit... I told Carlos to come to Cienfuegos with us the next morning and we'll there he was waiting for us.. Didn't think he was actually going to come! Decided that we would rent a car to go so we could all fit instead of two taxis.
