... Etihad why do you feed me so?? I cannot resist anything that is ‘free’ so even after eating Pad Thai in the airport at about 9pm I still managed to accept and eat dinner that was served on the plane about 2 hours later. I did this with my eyes hanging out of my head as the lack of sleep was very quickly catching up with me. Then a few hours later ….. ice-cream?? Of course!! My plan of losing a few kilos is very quickly fading ...

... but it was a shame that David, his partner, could not be there. It was however really nice to have a meal outdoors at an Italian restaurant on my first evening in Australia with Nigel as the weather in Melbourne was being very kind. ... corner. After walking down the corridor a frosted glass window tells you that you've reached the 'Department of female hygiene'. Inside the toilets is a hospital bed, made up for the next victim, pull out hospital lights to inspect the patients and yet again the bars on the windows. Needless to say my toilet visit didn't last very long. We stayed here a little while and laughed at how freaky it actually was before heading for Chinese and googling the place. The bar ...

... We headed out early with the intention of going to the beach. We were told that it would be 34 degrees out and we thought we'd have a relaxing day. Instead it was overcast and mild. Still, we walked down to Federation Sq to learn more about the trams and then took one to St. Kilda, a suburb to the south of the city. When we arrived we were dropped outside of a carnival looking place called Luna Park. The entrance to this place ...
