    ... Atta Villa Pamphili and had a swim and relax by the pool then off to meet our fellow travellers at our Welcome dinner.     ... entry Pete said you won't believe it, the louvre is closed on Tuesdays. Ok we will come back again tomorrow.     ... after some lunch (to get out of the heavy rain), of which Sue had some delicious Onion Soup, we went for a cruise up and down the Seine. Then for a walk along the river and before we knew it, it was 4.30, so time to head back to the Apartment to write this blog and rest up for dinner this evening. Early start tomorrow to fly to Florence and the start of the Italian journey. Looking forward to this. So far all has been good...2 weeks down, 4 to go! ...

    ... to keep us all entertained. The palace itself is a short stroll from the Versailles Rive Gauche train station and if you didn't know which way to go you just had to follow the crowd, my goodness so many people here. It took just on an hour to get through the entry but it was certainly worth the wait. All I can say is 'wow'!! The sheer opulence of the place is breathtaking.
