Fantastic location. Nothing was to much bother for the staff who attended to our requests in a prompt and professional manner. Absolutely no complaints.

With very little sleep, we arrived in Bali at a little past midnight local time.

... to today is still very sombre and we left with sadness in our hearts. Thur 20th - Today we headed back to Kuta for a bit more shopping and lunch. We had a great lunch at a locals cafe which included prawns, fish, rice, vegetables and spices all for the total amount of $4 for the two meals, and it was delicious! We went and saw a 5D movie and then headed back to the memorial bomb site which was now open and allowed us to walk up and read the names of all ...

... but instead we seemed to be following a path which ran alongside a road. Worse, there were bells strategically located near the interactions with the road to "ring in case of bears". Yes bears. That wasn't in the guidebook. Our late start meant we seemed to be the only people on the trail which multiplied the number of imaginary bears lying in wait for us. Eventually we passed a mother and daughter headed the opposite way, the daughter had a bell attached to her rucksack so ...

... Prix - Christine was there ton remind me that we were now in Indonesia. Next thought - what language is spoken here exactly. My initial impressions were of warmth, lovely skies as the sun was rising, the green color of trees and plants I have fallen in love with and some large bodies of water we passed over via modern bridges. Very interesting that my initial thoughts of Thailand were not positive like this and even after three weeks in Thailand I am not overly in love with ...

... down we made a move and enjoyed the cooling light drizzle.

We had decided a cheap watch would be handy and Mike managed to bargain a seller down to less than half price - good effort! I also bought a top and wasnt quite as successful - 45% off - still, not bad.

Tonight we've borrowed some DVDs from the hostel and are going to eat dinner here too. Tomorrow we're off to Senggigi, just for a night, on the way to the Gili Islands. Exciting!
