... climbers gave us a pair of trekking poles which was a bonus!

We had met a lovely Swedish couple, Karin and Johan, at the Tip of Borneo and one day as I was carrying two cups of coffee back to our room I saw them. They were staying two rooms down at the same guesthouse! It was a great reunion. We spent the rest of the afternoon catching up and sharing our latest travel tales. They were climbing the next day. After the travelling today I was shattered so went straight to bed, looking forward to a nice lie in and waking up to our 7th week in ...

Mantanani island

A travel blog entry by cramow on Apr 09, 2014

... moment. Luckily they hadn't forgotten about us and we had our own mini briefing afterwards. We then boarded the boat and set off on the hour journey to the Mantanani islands. As we approached the island it was incredible to see the water turn from dark blue to clear turquoise in almost an instance. From the side of the boat you could see the coral beneath the sea and hundreds of fish swimming around. We got off the boat and stepped onto the whitest sand ...
