... all crowded along the shoreline, just as you imagine Borneo to be. Children in school uniform whizzing by in boats. Arrival into a modern city across the Bay , just 3 excursions to choose from here ,off at 8.30 in 31o already. Each passenger presented with a necklace, a Litai, made by the the Rungus women of the Longhouses of Kudat in Northern Sabah, quite intricate and such a nice thing, so many needed as for men and women. I haven't written in a while, so these will be sort of catch-up entries for the next few days.

After I finished my diving course I took a day and just hung out and relaxed in KK. I slept in, read a book, got my laundry done and planned a bit for my next few days. I had some good conversations with other people in the hostel.

Tomorrow is a day of rest, hopefully we can manage to make it out of ...

As we retired to bed John and I both commented on the noise - we had become accustomed to the crickets and birds of the forest - the city with sirens, music and noisy hotel guests was very much a contrast! What a wonderful experience to be in the rain forest, but unfortunately back to civilization. After Breakfast we experienced the Sunday Market of KK, packed with many different wares over about four streets! There was a lot of jewellery, bags, plants, tools, ...

... always have to buy a bunch of 15 bananas when I really can only manage to eat three?! I know it only costs 10p for the flippin bunch, but really? No, I have to buy and take away a whole bunch and no, even though I pay for them all, they won't take back 12 from me! Haha, this happens every single time, even in Cambodia with Niki! So I ate three and the village kids were given the rest as I rode on through! Strange state of affairs! I wasn't getting very far ...
