... a hard day. Just in case we became complacent another F6 storm hit us aswe entered Colom in the dark -probabley the hardest entry I have ever made and was pleased to have old John to guide us to safety. More about this trip tomorrow when we have dried out - happy days!!!

  • winds were not good today to get to either ends of Monorca, tomorrow should be different so I'm setting off at 0300 heading towards Cuitadella, lets see what happens.

... wish I could have been there.
The boat performed well, though the jib will fall to bits before the end of the trip. Was using my racing main , will change to the old dacron one when I have a chance.
Signing off, need a shower, took some very big waves and got very salty.

... got some heavy duty washing that needs to be done – we were planning on doing the laundry when we are next in a marina - which after researching is some time off.
The marina in Mahon is asking for a minimum stay of 3 days and the charge band is the highest so we are looking at alternatives.

... up and therefore lovely places do not benefit from cruisers who like to anchor.

We found a lovely cove where there was a tributary which we took up. We thought we'd be the only ones there but sadly soon another yacht joined us. Because of the narrowness of the tributary we dropped our kedge anchor.
In the evening enjoyed another wonderful sunset and BBQ and listened to the sound of cicadas slowing softening with the loss of sunlight.
