I moved to Valparaiso-Vi~a del Mar to relax and follow the sub-20 Mexican team, i was just a friendly game but i had nothing better to do. Valparaiso is not that great, just a port with a couple of attractions like some old elevators. Vi~a del Mar is a beach resort for the people in Chile and it's cool even that i visited the place in off season.

... food. The only down side to Valpo was the rubbish everwhere, it seems there was some strike action going on cos there were piles & piles of it. Valpo has ascensors to get up the many hills dating bAck to the 1880s-which explains why many weren't working! butluckily the one on our hill did. ran into Ali as iI was exploring and had a superb lunch of the Day and yummy boutique ...
Valparaiso, Chile leannemmOn monday, after my grammar class that I am absolutely in love with, Katie and I took an ascensor and headed up to a cute little cafe called Brighton. It was windy as hell at the top of the cerro, so we chose a spot inside where we could almost see the sunset. The sunset died a little and eventually ended anti-climatically, so instead we got down to business. I helped her out with her Spanish homework because we are attempting to get some sort of tutoring ...
Valparaíso, Valparaíso, Chile lakaitgreg... that a certain hour didn't work for him. So, he moved the class to a time in which I already had a class. The confusion that ensued has lasted the past couple of days, and because of it I won't have my first Urban History class until next thursday! Then, as a nice finale, on my way to my grammar/linguistics class I saw a sheet of paper with multiple options for religion classes. My interest spiked, and I wrote down a potential ...
Valparaíso, Valparaíso, Chile lakaitgreg... my name in it somewhere. I began making the letters of my name look like birds flying in the sky, but the letters r and n just didn't cut it - haha! Next, I drew a sailboat in the water and an abstract design in the middle (which I think kind of looks like a kite flying over the sea). I was pretty proud of my painting, and now when I come back to visit, I can go there and see my own grafitti!

Chao y besitos!
Erin
Valparaiso, Chile etroesch... in a nice pair of heels, crossed my legs and nodded, yes I´d love to try the wine thank you. As it was, my beach clothes and sandy toes (wind mussed hair and sun burnt nose) stuck out painfully. If it hadn´t been for the judgemental people surrounding me, I wouldn´t have felt so self-conscious. It was the most uncomfortable solo dining experience I´ve ever had. When they brought the bill and obligingly said they hoped to see me again, I thought "like hell ...
Valparaiso, Chile karsenault... and Nobel Prize Winner for Literature. I say 'surprising' as we didn't really know what to expect. I would describe it by saying that if Valparaiso was a house, this would be it. Every room is a different colour and an eclectic mix of furniture, antiques and decor, along with outstanding views of the city below. It even built the place with a kind of heliport on the roof to transport him to the stars. He was quite a character. We ...
Valparaíso, Chile mariaandeva... of the Chilean communists. His house which sits high up in the hills , "La Sebastiana" , is really quite fabulous with it´s superb views out to the whole of Valparaiso and an amazing attention to detail in the design of the house. "Lukas" was a famous Chilean cartoonist and caricaturist and you can visit the "Casa de Lukas" , a mansion with an exhibition of his work . Again the house was really nice and although the captions to his cartoons were in Spanish ...

He is also working with some friends to make a cream made of slime of caracoles (snails) which studies have shown to be very healthy for the skin. Karem, Ricardo's wife is a social worker who helps poor people in Valpo, in particular she helps find clothes for babies of very poor women. La Karem is such a good person..she went to her cousins who have kids to gather clothes for the babies. The next evening we went to ...
